Ilicia Wheeler Davis m. Rev John Shackelford Gibson
Ilicia was born about 1859 in Trenton, NJ. She married on 12 Jan 1881 to Rev. John Shackelford Gibson (b. 22 Dec 1853) in Albemarle VA. He was an assistant pastor at St. Michael's Church in Trenton, NJ from 1879-80. He was then a missionary in southern Ohio from 1880-1882, pastor of Nelson parish in West Virginia from 1882-1890, and pastor of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg, VA from 1890-92. He took over as the minister of Trinity Episcopal Church in Huntington WV from 1892-1912. Ilicia published the church newsletter "The Messenger" during this period. He had just accepted a new ministry position back in Virginia at Christ Church in Gordonsville when he died of a heart attack on 4 Dec 1912. He was buried in Trenton, NJ.

Rev. James Davis Gibson (b Oct 1883) James Davis became a clergyman like his father and grandfather. He worked as rector in the same church as his grandfather (Trinity Church in Covington, KY). He married Mary Leadbetter. In 1930, the family is listed in Fort Mitchell, Kenton Co KY: James was working as an Episcopal clergyman and living with his wife Mary and their children John Gibson age 19, Janet Gibson age 17, James Gibson age16, Douglas Gibson age 11 and Philip Giibson age 8. Rev James died on 5 Mar 1932 in Covington KY.
Anna Gibson (b Sep 1885) Anna married Lieut Col J.M.(John Mitchell) Willis, who worked with the Medical Corp, US Army. Stationed in Fort Snelling, MN at one point. In 1930, Ann and her husband were living on the Ft Leavenworth Base in Kansas, with their son John Willis Jr , age 14, who was born in the Phillipine Islands.
Dr. John Shackelford Gibson Jr. (b Jan 1887), John Shackelford Jr. attended the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, became a Major in Medical Corp, US Army, and married Patty Braxton. In 1930 John is listed as a Surgeon at the "Government Hospital" in Washington DC. He is living with wife Patty and a daughter Eleanor Gibson.
Philip Pendleton Gibson (b Jun 1890). Became a prominent lawyer in Huntington. One source mentions him as "of Washington & Lee University in Lexington". Maybe he attended law school there? He married Morrell Sanford. In 1930, Philip and Morrell are listed in Huntington, Cabell Co WV.
Dr. James Marvin Davis m. Elizabeth H. Kallam
James M. Davis was born 6 Aug 1818 in Ulster Co NY. Dentist in Trenton, Mercer Co, NJ from 1854-1885 (listed in City Directories). 1880 census for Chambersburg showed that the family had several servants, so must have been fairly well-to-do. He died ~1885 in Trenton. After James' death, Elizabeth moved in with her daughter Frances Bodine.
Married Elizabeth on date???. Elizabeth Kallam was born ~1825 in New Jersey, the daughter of Margaret and ??? Kallam. She died 17 Oct 1906 in Trenton at age 82.

Marvina James Davis (b 30 Apr 1856 d 9 Oct 1879--wrong date!)) in Trenton. Married banker Henry Darcy Scudder (b 3 Oct 1851, d 13 Feb 1930), son of Judge Edward Scudder. They lived in Chambersburg and Orange NJ. Had at least one child, Henry Jr b 26 Nov 1884 in Trenton, d Oct 1941.
Frances P. Davis (b ~1844, d aft 1905) in Trenton. Married Dr. Joseph Long Bodine (b 26 Jun 1839, d 2 Jan 1889). Lived at 146 West State St in Trenton. Mother Elizabeth lived with them for about 20 years. They had at least one child, Joseph Lamb Bodine b 6 Nov 1883, d 10 Jun 1950)

James Davis was born 8 Sep 1793 in Ulster Co NY. Married Permellia on 15 Jun1815. Permellia (or Pamelia) was born 23 Apr 1799 in Ulster Co and died 4 Mar 1822. He remarried Margaret Terwiliger, his cousin.

Elsje Terwiliger was the daughter of Isaac Terwiliger and Rebecca Phoenix. She was born 1749 in Montgomery, Orange NY.

Samuel was born 1706 in Kingston, Ulster Co NY. Baptised 17 Mar 1706 in Kingston. Served as Constable in 1740. One of the founders of the Reformed Protestant Dutch Church in Marbleton, in 1789. Died in Marbletown, Ulster Co NY.
Married Elsje Roberse on 1 Oct 1743.(he was 37, she was 18). Elsje was born 14 Mar 1725 in Kingston, Ulster Co NY to Jacobus Robbertsz and Weyntjen Klaarwater.

Isaac Davis m. Jannetje Mauritis
Isaac was born ~1661 in Marbletown, Ulster Co NY. Died ~1715. Apprenticed at age 19 for 6 years to Hendrick Kip. A "Tall, raw-boned man" who fought in the Ulster Co Militia. Was Kingston Assistant Trustee in 1705-06, and town Trustee in 1711. built a stone house which was turned into an Inn by his widow and son Frederick. This Inn, called Davis Tavern, was the site of town meetings for over a hundred years and still stands on Route 209.
Married Jannetje 13 Nov 1692 in Kingston, Ulster Co NY. Jannetje was born 1671 in Kingston, Ulster Co, NY. Baptised 18 Jun 1671. Jannetje was the daughter of Frederick Pietersen Mouritz (b ~1635 in Holland) and Engeltje Hendricks (b ~1640 in Albany, NY).

Christopher Davis m. Maria Martensen (Meertens)
Christopher "Kit" was born 3 Sep 1616 in Bishopwyck, England. He died 1680 in Marbletown, Ulster Co, NY. He worked as a traper, an Indian interpreter, and a farmer. He was known for his "lawlessness" and was jailed many times for such crimes as contempt, spreading rumors among the Indians, beating up neighbors and servants, and selling brandy to the Indians. On one occasion he was in court for being hit in the head with a pair of tongs, and on another occasion he was there for striking another man with a tankard. He came to Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1636, and lived on the island of Manhattan for a year until he got "into trouble with one of his neighbors." He then moved to Ft Orange (Albany), where he stayed from 1638-1652. A Dutch Trading Post had been established in Ulster Co, but there wasn't a white settlement in that region until Kit and three other Brits came there in 1652. He built several log cabins around Kingston and Esopus, and held large tracts of land. His 1st wife Cornelia DeVos died in 1657, and he remarried to Maria Meertens Martensen, daughter of Martin Hendricksen Beekman, in 1659.
